THE LEGEND OF THE FOX by Donna Maloy won second place in the Beau Monde chapter of RWA's Royal Ascot contest, "sweet and mild" category. It’s a YA book with a "sweet and mild" attraction between a shapeshifter and a werewolf in a category that was not specifically YA. Sourcebooks Children's Editor requested and rejected the story. According to the editor, their list is overfull with fantasies that have girl protagonists. Donna’s busy with her next book, a Victorian steampunk, with a boy protagonist story!

Teri Thackston’s second western romance ebook THE SALVATION OF CAPTAIN BEN CHANDLER will be released Sept 10 at Cerridwen Press. This is a stand-alone sequel to THE ABDUCTION OF MISS JENNY CHANDLER.
